Collins’ newly designed NEXBUS offers superior strength and safety through innovative features that include increased driver’s visibility and an all metal construction utilizing high-strength, low-alloy tube steel roof bows. The bus is built on a dual rear-wheel General Motors (GM) chassis with a 6.0 liter propane powered engine. CleanFUEL USA provides the propane autogas fuel systems that allow the buses to use propane. Collins was the first Type A manufacturer to offer propane as an engine option, starting over 3 years ago. Kent Tyler, President of Collins Bus Corporation, noted, “Canyon State Bus Sales is one of our top performing dealers. As the largest Type A manufacturer, we are pleased to join with them to support their customers and the community with efficient and environmentally friendly buses.”
Phil Polizzatto, Owner and President of Canyon State Bus Sales, said, “We are happy to be partnered with Collins Bus Corporation and Blue Bird Corporation to deliver these buses to the Glendale Elementary School District. Glendale is being both financially responsible and environmentally responsible by choosing this technology. Additionally, their partnership with Ferrell Gas has allowed them to save significant dollars in infrastructure and fuel costs.”
Canyon State Bus Sales will hold a media event for Glendale Elementary School District at the District Office in Glendale, Arizona on January 11 at 9 a.m. MST. This event is open to the public.
